The outbreak of COVID-19 has transformed our day-to-day lives as we knew them. All of us have been personally affected, whether by uncertainty or loss. While a number of conferences have been canceled or moved to later this year, which we understand and support, the 5CC Board of Directors and show management decided that 5CC 2020 will proceed as planned at the end of August 2020, although with changes to our original thinking.
We believe in the power of convening people, whether virtually or in person, and we see this as a moment for embracing the opportunities technology gives us to connect. So, in the light of the recent events, we decided that our 12th 5CC World Congress will become the first virtual edition of the 5-Continent-Congress. Staging 5CC 2020 virtually this year will help us adhere to our commitment to keeping our #5CCfamily and their home communities safe while making the conference experience accessible to a much bigger, national, and global audience.
Necessity is now teaching the world more than ever the importance of digitalization. There is no doubt that artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning will revolutionize and shape the future of medicine as we know it today. To keep up with our aim of offering you an unparalleled scientific program and our leading role as one of the most important meetings for medical dermatology and aesthetic medicine worldwide, we will pick up where we left off in 2019 and expand on the discussion of what lies ahead in the rapid digitalization of the medical sector. Our expert panel “THE BRAIN BEHIND THE BRAIN – OPTIMIZING RESULTS WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE & DEEP LEARNING” will reconvene the brightest minds from industry, academia, and practice and take an optimistic look at the challenges ahead and demonstrate the tremendous opportunity that AI and emerging tech provide for dermatology and aesthetic medicine.
