A “Créatif” and Educator, Michael P Goodman MD is celebrating his 50th anniversary practicing Gynecology and Surgery, and 25 years as a Cosmetic Gynecologic Surgeon. With > 10 contributions to first-tier literature, the editorship of the definitive textbook on the subject (“Female Genital Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery,” Wiley-Blackwell, 2016), author of chapters on “Revision Labiaplasty” and “Complication Avoidance” in Dr. Foad Nahai’s “The Art of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery: Principals and Techniques, 3rd Edition, and writing the Introduction to Dr. Christine Hamori’s Special Edition of Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America (2022), Dr. Goodman is internationally considered a Thought Leader in the field of Women’s Genital Aesthetics. He has achieved several “Best Of” awards by ISCG for his surgical techniques, was named ISCG’s 2019 “Educator of the Year,” and received the 2021 ISCG award for “Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Cosmetic Gynecology.” Dr. Goodman is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Sexual Medicine, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and is an ad hoc reviewer for several other publications. His interests have also extended to the fields of Menopausal and Sexual Medicine and he has contributed both books and additions to the evidence-based literature on these subjects. Dr. Goodman is the CEO and Scientific Director of The Labiaplasty and Vaginoplasty Training Institute of America, Inc.™, and thoroughly enjoys educating surgeons, trainees, and medical students as well as lecturing internationally in the field. He has trained > 100 surgeons in his 2-day training courses, and has lectured in front of thousands. Michael lives in Northern CA, USA, where he shepherds and farms 5 acres of ridgetop and valley outside of the farm town of Winters, CA, and is cared for by his longtime friend Bonny, and (indifferently) by his cat, “Smoke.” He enjoys writing, working on the land, playing bass guitar, kayaking, hanging out with his children & grandchildren and, when his orthopedic issues are at bay, playing as much tennis as his body will allow.
